I never want to see the word debate ever again. Let us instead choose conversation, The word debate has taken on an unnecessary negative taint with an adversarial slant that stains both understanding and intent, aggravated by its abuse from online bullies and bros with no educative interest or intent. Not everyone is out to beat their compatriots to a pulp with word slurry and an audacious sense of being owed someone else’s opinion or time. Some folks are just out to have a conversation, share information, and hear opinion. Let’s do that, and take the combative overtone away from the get-go.
