Extremes
I am very uncomfortable with militantism, even when it supports a cause I myself support. I've never liked fanaticism in any way. I don't care for behavioural and emotional extremes. All these things smack of something unsure, unsafe, unstable, something I cannot trust and do not want to associate myself with. They strike me as not fleshed out, unmethodical, and even dishonest or manipulative. I think some of it definitely does stem from latent PTSD brought on by being raised by an alcoholic, such that I am wary of emotional extremes, avoid them when I can, and ward them off.
