Eye contact
Everywhere I go, no matter with whom I speak, but particularly in
situations involving the service industry in an way, I try to make sure
I look the service person right in the eye when I'm communicating with
them, particularly when I say thank you, which I also make sure to do
every time.
People deserve to be recognised, valued, respected, and seen, especially
in situations where they are labour-saving for you or serving you. Look
them in the eye. Every time. We dismiss people too much, too easily, and
most of the time don't even realise we're doing it.
