Moon
On September 24th, 1970 the Soviet's Luna 16 returned from space with three ounces of the moon. That was the first unmanned, automated instance of lunar material being brought back to the Earth. It's making me think of all the folklore about the moon, about how you can see a man's face on its surface, and how it's made of cheese. I would love to know how that story got started. She looks pristine hanging there in the night sky, yet on some nights her skin is orange like arc sodium streetlights. She is our stellar tetherball, controlling our oceanic and bodily tides.
