Numerics

One of these days, I should count exactly how many cups of tea I drink per day. So far, all I've got is the extremely precise mathematical number of a lot. I remember learning, as a child, there actually are quasi-accepted numeric equivalents for terms like "a few", "many", and "some". I think "a few" is supposed to be four or five. It's odd, when you think about it, how many words the English language has for numerics without any precise value attached to them, yet only one word for love, friend, and family - things which morph constantly.
