Sea
I was born by the sea, born with the scent of the Atlantic's salty breath in my face, her waves in my veins. I would like to say the sea is beautiful, but that's an ineffectual word to describe that great expanse of green and blue. The sea is sublime, and transcends beauty. The sea is gorgeous, yet terrifying. The liquid of life that could just as easily snatch the breath from your body and tug you down with her unforgiving fingers. We climb into boats with this illusion of control. I think she only lets us think we're winning.
