Take a breath
The over-indulgence on being expected to be on all the time, competing, businessing, harms our concept of community. Turning everything into a commodity or competition erodes our sense of camaraderies and shared fulfilment and enjoyment stemming from engaging in things together, sometimes for no other reason than to enjoy doing so. Our culture has become far too fixated on dopamine hits, on instant gratification, and has completely lost touch with long-term fulfilment and doing things that don't lead to commodification of some kind. We are losing the plot on being together, on community, on self-fulfilment, on engagement, and on contentment.
