Gather small, interesting objects that catch your eye while out and about, or repurpose things you’ve got sitting around.
Use these found objects to create a mosaic on a piece of canvas or picture frame.
Canvas is good for less weighty items like papers and photographs, but a solid frame would be better for more weighty pieces and assemblage. Cradled panels normally used to create paintings, can be flipped around and used for a box to create the mosaic or other assemblage in. They tend to be a bit deep, so would be more suitable for bigger pieces.
This is also a good option for doing resin insets too, which could be used to display a random selection of items you want to preserve, or you could create a specific scene using your pieces in non-typical and abstract ways.
YouTube has many videos that can show you through the various methods of creating mosaic.
