Create something wearable from found objects.
You will need:
- A necklace or other chain
Do:
- Keep your eyes out for items that can stand up to being strung and worn as jewellery.
- Make sure all the pieces are suitably cleaned and sealed before you use them, and remove any rough or sharp edges.
- Use jump rings to attach pieces to the chain you're working with.
Voila! You have your jewellery!
Notes:
- Be imaginative and don't just choose things that look like they'd be for jewellery. Be inventive and think out-of-the-box, and be a little bit weird.
- You can also put items on a chain to wear around your waist.
Potential items:
- beads, buttons, keys, washers, wing nuts, gears, pins, bottle caps, typewriter keys, metal buttons, coins, lost jewellery pieces, enamel pins, pieces of vinyl records, keychains, bobbins, zipper pulls, sea glass, broken chain, metal loops, id badges and charms, lanyard pieces, wind chime/sun catcher parts, pop can tabs,
Some of these items might require extra tooling to make them suitable for use, such as those items that might require a drill to bore holes through them. Make sure to seek out the appropriate tools and advice on how to use them for your needs.
