You will need:
- Assorted small, colourful items like broken tiles, glass beads, buttons, etc.
- Base surface wood, cardboard, or any sturdy surface
- Adhesive glue suitable for the chosen base and materials
- Gloves
- Grout (optional)
- Grout sealer (optional)
- Resin (optional)
- Transparent paints or dyes (optional)
- Additional tiny items such as glitter, beads, shells, broken ceramic, glass shards, etc.
Do:
- Plan your design and apply adhesive to small sections of the base to place the items.
- Let everything dry completely.
Or:
- Use a cradled panel (normally used for painting on) or a shadow box.
- Place your items into the box side and fix them down.
- When the glue's dried, fill the area with resin to seal the items in.
- Add extra things to the resin while it's still wet to add interest.
- Use dyes to colour the resin while it's still wet, then allow it to cure/dry completely.
Notes:
- You might want to attach wall hanging hardware to the cradle or wood box before you fill it.
