You will need:
- old magazines
- adhesives
- scissors
- saw or other cutting tool
- Mod Podge / acrylic gel medium
- brush (for the above)
- surfaces/supports: tiles, masonite, chip board, poster board, cardboard, cork, magnets / magnet sheets
Do:
- Choose pages that appeal to you from your gathered magazines.
- Adhere the page whole to a sturdy support suitable for your intended purpose.
- Seal the piece with Mod Podge, acrylic medium, or something stronger for coasters.
- Cut apart in squares, or other shapes as desired/needed.
You can make:
- Mosaics, by using small pieces that you've torn/cut apart. Save your scraps for future projects.
- Puzzles, by cutting the pieces in various shapes.
- Coasters, by cutting them into squares or circles and attaching them to cork. Make sure you use a stronger sealer than Mod Podge/medium for this process.
- Magnets, by adding a magnet or putting the piece on magnetic sheeting.
- Tiles / tile magnets, by attaching the whole thing to a magnetic sheet and cutting them apart so they can be rearranged on a fridge.
- Poetry/text magnets, by doing any of the above with text instead of images.
