Have I ever mentioned how much I love The Buzzcocks? No? Let me correct that: I love The Buzzcocks.
Way back in the misty dawns of time, as a teen discovering music other than top 40 radio, one of the first bands I clapped ears on was The Buzzcocks (also The Stranglers, The Monks, and The Forgotten Rebels). Although I did buy a B-52s 45 (yes, I'm old, shut up), before I even knew that kind of music existed.
Hamilton had a top 40 station that wasn't, how to put it, strictly top 40. They often played the most bizarre stuff in between the standard top 40 hits. It was fab. I don't think we realised until long after it was gone, how lucky we were. But, by that time we also had CFNY, which also spoiled us.
