What makes a person a poet is not words, it is vision, perception, relation with the world around the person. I have seen words a-plenty erupt from the pens of people who call themselves poets, but they are empty words, they carry no feeling, and seem to see nothing but their own rhyme schemes. Then there are those who write little, if at all, who have more depth to themselves, more depth of passion, more strength, than some who’ve published volume after volume of laureate verse. I admire these quieter souls, these people from whom you can feel the sensual steaming off them almost tangibly. I think they have more to give than anyone ever truly sees, or knows.
