Every Sunday night Q107 does a history of rock show, followed by live concert recordings of rock bands/singers. Usually they do two every show. Most of the stuff was apparently recorded by/for the BBC.
Tonight's history was all about famous clubs from the '60s to now - made mention of CBGB of course, Max's Kansas City, and a hell of a lot of Toronto clubs, too.
The live portion of the show tonight is starting off with live recordings of The Faces and solo Rod Stewart. Before you laugh (and by you, I mean those of you who only know about Rod's top 40 and disco), I have to tell you that pre-disco Rod Stewart kicked a lot of ass. He had that great gravelly voice that can make some bluesy rock so damn good to listen to. I'm personally addicted to the song Gasoline Alley.
… and the second part of the live show is Van Morrison.
