People seem under the mistaken impression that the only good conversational skills are knowing how to talk and listen. That's not so. At least as key is knowing when to be silent; not silent in the sense of "letting others have their say", silent in the sense of "it's not necessary to talk all the time". Talking for the sake thereof, just to hear your own voice, or because you think it automatically grants you inclusion in a group, is not only erroneous thinking, it's also irritating. It results in people tuning you out, particularly if your talking says nothing.
