The average lifespan of the common housefly is 21 days. I was hoping for something far less than this, as this filthy, insect bastard has been harassing me for days now, and he's much smarter and faster than he should be. It's just a fly. It shouldn't be that fast. I should be able to get it. But no, he moves like the wind, and continues on his merry way of landing on me. It's a damned good thing houseflies are the only bugs that don't make me want to scream, or I'd have gone 'round the twist by now.
