  1. I can't abide melon of any kind in any form - makes me queasy. still true
  2. I crave the fatted beef meal, rare, with starchy potato goodness. still true
  3. Clutter is the most insidious material in the universe, next to stupidity - no matter how many neatnesses you commit, there's still more of it. still true
  4. I once spoke to a Rabbi about some matters of Jewish law, and during the conversation he mentioned the Holocaust in a tone and manner that seemed to indicate he's used to talking to people who have no idea what it was.
  5. It may seem foreign to some, but I find the sound of Muslims praying to be strangely comforting. still true
  6. Badly faked Irish and Scottish accents are amongst the most irritating things to hear. still true
  7. I really should send back those overdue library books.
  8. This brand new lamp I have with the 100 watt bulb, is just fabulous - and less frightening than the halogen one that started crackling for no reason whatever. Guess how fast I unplugged that and never used it again?

  10. It's exceedingly annoying when a hair will get stuck somewhere on my back and I can't get it off. Off, damned hair! Off! still true

  12. The mail server where my friend Diane works filters out emails with words like fuck and cunt in them - this made it very difficult to tell her that WEBoggle (defunct) accepts them, but is more kind to American spelling than British.
  13. I really must get myself one of those travel trunks that's got a mini closet and drawers in it and such - they're very nifty - and hell, when it comes to moving time, everything's already packed! still true

  17. The other day I sneezed horribly from the time I got up til the time I went to bed - my head wasn't stuffed before that, but it sure was afterwards. It's weird how the sneezing made the stuff, rather than the stuff causing the sneezing. A clear lack of medical understanding. D'oh.

  19. That face tingling I get as part of the wonderful world of migraine aura, is really quite strange sometimes - it's almost, but not quite, like a numbness ... but not. still true
  20. The noise of water in the pipes in this building puts me in mind of explosive tsunami bursting forth from my walls. still true - 13 years later, I would be glad I wasn't home when the pipes in the kitchen upstairs burst, and all the apartments underneath it got wrecked.
  21. It's true - every morning I try to be up at 8 so I can watch Kung Fu - The Legend Continues. can watch any time I like now

It makes me giggle when American TV shows filmed in Canada (like the above) go to great lengths to hide their Canadianness (like the above) but never quite succeed (like the above) - and then you get Forever Knight, which not only never tried to hide its Canadianness, but revelled in it. now they don't hide it so much
  23. I see the humour of Mother Nature, I see her mockingness, when she dumps a snowstorm on me the day before I need to go downtown to do some errands.
  24. I have never seen any Harry Potter film, and likely never will, yet I feel strangely compelled to own a poster of Snape. have seen one Harry Potter film, and still think Alan Rickman is the shit
  25. One of my first recollections of the word yummo was in relation to a friend describing squeezing the guts out of worms to feed his bats. 21 years later, I'd be confused in the dojo when my sensei would say yame (stop), because I thought he was saying yummy
  26. On accidentally seeing a few minutes of the show Beastmaster (how I loathe it) ... rawhide speedos are anachronistic.
  27. Watching people try to pick each other up is really quite hilarious.

  29. I've witnessed far too many persons who seriously need to build bridges and get over themselves.
  30. I wish I had green food dye so I could go outside and dye the snow green in honour of the day. Too bad there's no snow in July, or I could do orange on the 12th ... or is it the 11th?
  31. The fact that some males apparently strip naked at the Toronto Gay Pride parade each year brings to mind one questions - it's July, are you not ... concerned?
