Christmas is not Christmas without the Alastair Sim film of A Christmas Carol. This was the first film version I remember ever seeing, and it's been a necessary part of every Christmas since. He goes from being crazed and bitter to crazed and comedic, with such warmth as not many could muster. I spend the entire film waiting for the last ten minutes, when he prances around his room singing, and scaring the crap out of his maid.
