As I grew up, anything that couldn't be seen, anything that was invisible or out of the range of human vision, was skybluepink.
My grandfather had a sort of devilish sarcastic streak to him. He would tease in the most irreverent fashion, so he would always tell me things like that to tease me a little - much in the same way that I, not a day since, asked my friend who'd had some of his colon removed if that meant he now had a semi-colon. He used to borrow a little irreverent humour from the pages of Oscar Wilde and Groucho Marx, and say things like "You're a gentleman and a scholar, and I'm not much better myself," or "Your generosity is only exceeded by your good looks."
I have him to thank for my sarcastic streak, my sense of humour, and my impish side. I have him to thank, also, for my intellectual curiosity and my love of the scientific.
