Was there something you were afraid of as a child that just seems silly to you now?
Totally, and I blame it all on Disney.
When I was a wee, small thing I saw the movie Blackbeard's Ghost. There's a scene where a man is looking into a mirror, and the ghost pops into the frame - I can't remember whether it's into the mirror image, or behind the man.
That image scared the crap out of me. So much so that for years I wouldn't walk up to my bed in a dark room. I'd get about a foot away and jump onto my bed from a distance.
Seems so bizarre because I'm scared of very little now - certainly not my own shadow, nor that of any ghost who may be hanging about.
