I've been watching a medical drama called Monday Mornings, where the question of organ donation comes up frequently.
I'm an organ donor. I think everyone should be. I think it's singularly ridiculous not to donate one's organs. In fact, it's selfish not to. What do you need to keep them for?
Keeping them after death only made sense to the Egyptians who thought they'd need them in the afterlife - except the brain, by the way. They never preserved that. They thought it was useless. And when you see the way some folks use them - or don't - the Egyptians might have been on to something.
