I remember being surprised when I found out that in some schools now, kids are no longer taught cursive writing. Is it a functionally necessary skill? No. But as some have pointed out, there is something lost as this art is lost.
There is something beautifully meditative and connective about the act of writing. I miss it. I do very little of it any more. It's no longer required for 99% of the communications I share with people.
Writing emails is all well and good, but I never quite felt like I was truly communicating with a person. I prefer talking. Or writing.
