Jodorowsky's Dune

I am never certain what I think of Jodorowsky. I don't know that I like what he does, but I am still intrigued and fascinated by it. So, because of that, and because one of my favourite sci-fi universes is Dune, I've been hankering to see the documentary Jodorowsky's Dune for the past couple of years - which I have finally just watched.

That man has a peculiar fascination with making people want to hallucinate, whether they're on something or not. In fact, he talks about that in this doco - that he wanted to give people the experience of hallucinating without there being any drugs involved (which was not the case with The Holy Mountain at all). As much as I want to like his vision - as I have tried to like other TV/film adaptations - I wonder if I would have liked this one. He certainly had a curious cast of characters lined up to be on screen, but some of the costuming and set design wasn't ... it seemed a little stupid, though I do see the point of why certain things were chosen to be as they are.

My uncertainty aside, had I the sort of money to fund such a thing, I'd pay for this film to be made just because I'm achingly curious to see it.
