I used to know a guy who would do this. " if you were a mature adult, you'd have sex with me. You must not be in control. you're just an immature child."
I never gave in to that.
Also, it is infuriating to me that emotional responses to things are considered of less value than unemotional ones. Emotion is part of the human condition. It gives us flavour, and is the reason we do much of what we do. I had a female friend tell me that when dealing with a male manager, I should never approach things from an emotional perspective, because my opinion would be given no credence.
I call bullshit on that one.
Of course, this is the same person who said that her bosses would come through "when it mattered/counted"; by which she meant grand gestures / events. Sorry, but respect and decency matter every day, not just the one day a year that someone has a life crisis or major change.
You can be emotional and still have clarity. You can be emotional and still be objective. You can be emotional and still be in control. By why should you have to be any of those things to be given credence, value, validity, respect, heed, attention, or time?
Emotion isn't a sin. It isn't an evil.
