When app-based grocery delivery became a much bigger thing here a couple of years ago I happily made use of it - not because I'm lazy, but because I'm vision impaired and shopping is a problem because of that.
It's hard for me to see things, to know what they are, to read some packaging, to see anything that isn't at eye level. Frequently I have to pick up just about everything I'm looking at in a store so I can see what it is and make sure whether or not it is what I want. It's a monumental pain in the ass, takes up an enormous amount of time, and means that my diet is normally pretty simple because that's the least problematic stuff to find. On the apps I can see it all. It's on my desktop monitor big as day and large as life, and I can read the text labelling.
I saw a tweet this morning of a disabled person's food delivery that had "STOP USING PPLE TO GET YOUR NEED!!!" scrawled across their pizza box.
Terrible language. But, as the recipient pointed out, it's things like this which make it difficult for disabled people to ask for help, particularly those whose disabilities are not the most obvious. When I first started getting groceries delivered I used to find a way to work it into the conversation that I was vision impaired so that they'd excuse" me for making use of the service.
The fear of judgement weighs heavily sometimes.
