Letters to Carney - Right side of history

I acquired a method of (so I'm told) contacting MPs directly that bypasses their office and goes straight to their phones. I took advantage of that to contact the Prime Minister regarding some topics of significance, import, or interest.

Greetings, Mr. Carney.

One day, I would love to wake up to find that Canada was on the right side of history, and had given me something to be proud of.

How about you give us that, instead of extending the continued disappointment of right-leaning social and economic conservatism which kills us all by slow degrees?

You could do better. You could give us better. I know you're a conservative man, but you don't need to keep proving it.

Perhaps we could expropriate Telesat and turn it into a crown corporation so that its ultimate control isn't in the hands of one of Stephen Harper's IDU-adjacent buddies. There's a thought.

A nationalised grocery chain even, by virtue of expropriation of the Loblaw corporation in its entirety, since the infrastructure is there - which could also help pave the way for federal healthcare options since the provinces are falling down on the job. A dead populace is of no use to anyone. Let's try and keep people alive. A healthy populace is less of a drain on the system, as you know.

How about some mass investment in real infrastructures and supports that actually lifts disabled people out of poverty, assists the poorer amongst us, ends homelessness, and gives people a leg up instead of a boot in the ass. Sounds good to me. Things like this have been done elsewhere. No reason we can't do them too.

How about a multi-boat flotilla to break the siege of Gaza and bring aid? I don't know who, or what, has you by your parts - but how about we all stop bending over and taking it from one of the most monstrously reprehensible regimes in human history. No one's going to thank you for it later if you continue to support them.
