Many moons ago, I couldn't find my wallet (that had about $30 in it). When I realised it was gone, I tried to work myself up into being upset about it, but it wasn't coming off. Then I realised something, that I was trying to work myself into an upset because I thought that's how I was supposed to feel about losing it. I wasn't upset about it being gone at all, so I ditched the mood immediately.
The wallet turned up not long after.
