Mapmaker
You will need:
- photos of your choosing
- a selection of pens, fineliners, paint pens/markers
Do:
- Choose a photograph of anything you like that perhaps has easily defined or definable outlines.
- Invent your locale.
- Using a very visible colour of ink either in pen, fineliner, or paint marker format, trace the outlines of areas. Those lines will become your roads.
- Note and label things like roads, intersections, bodies of water, mountains and hills, green space, urban areas, schools, government buildings, etc.
Notes:
- You can develop a simple set of symbols to represent different map features and create a legend.
- If you do a series of these, you could create your own atlas-style book with the collection.
- You could create a street map of a new country/town that's comprised only of places you've been.
