Question period
In a new (for the situation) journal, write down all the questions you have about life, the universe, and everything, and investigate them.
Along with straight up research, you could include your own and others' ruminations, various answers you find, more questions, all sorts of things.
This is a somewhat more directed version of a commonplace book or personal curriculum.
