Monochroma
Pick a colour, and create a collage or collection of images of that colour or pieces of things that are that colour. You could make an ongoing project of it, picking a different colour each time. If you do, maybe dedicate a journal just for that.
Material world
Each day, instead of writing an entry, create a small assemblage/collage of items from that day. Dedicate a journal for just these entries.
Audial
Each day, think of a piece of audio or other sound that you noticed, that impacted you, or that drove you mad. Play it in a program that can show you the sound waves of that image, take an image of those sound waves, print it, and put it in your journal. Or, just create an entry in your digital journal or blog and add the image.
Memoria
Using simple materials, create an image that illustrates a childhood memory. Your favourite hiding place, the kitchen in your childhood home, your school's playground, and so on.
Seeds
Each day, pick a single word for your entry. Fill the rest of the page with non-verbal impressions of that word: textures of glued dirty, a hand-drawn pattern, stamps made from the item the word indicates, colour washes, etc.
