Garden:
Create a tiny garden using small plants, moss, stones, miniatures, toys, glass bottles and beads, and creative landscaping. You could also add LED lights. This would work in a planter box too, for those without the space for a garden.
Household:
Come up with some unconventional uses for random household items.
Switch:
If you normally do it with your right hand, do it with your left instead - or vice versa.
Solo:
Find and play a one-person board game. They do exist.
Card:
Learn a card game.
Eat:
Create a new recipe using unexpected ingredients.
Poet:
Go to a poetry reading, spoken word, or open mic event.
Celebrate:
List some over-the-top ways to celebrate small victories.
Time:
Plan a time capsule - even if you never make it.
Lost:
Something lost you'd like to bring back.
Overlay:
Add some text (normal or distorted) on a transparent sheet and layer it over other things to photograph it.
Fleurs:
Think about your favourite flowers and try to create them in fabric, paint, paper, with buttons, with whatever you like, in whatever style suits your fancy.
GPS:
Use a GPS device to track your movements for a day, then create a piece of art with the output map/shape.
Closer:
Use a magnifying glass to focus on small objects or their parts - fabric textures, leaves, etc. - and draw or paint what you see.
Capture:
Use your phone to capture at least one thing each day that pleases you in some fashion.
Dream:
Using any means you like - still life, words, photographic, music - illustrate something from a dream.
Sensory:
Focus on sensory experiences - sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and textures you encounter.
Shadow:
Trace shadows, and turn them into objects, creatures, patterns.
Teach:
Pick a favourite art supply and show others how you use it.
Paper:
Give quilling or paper filigree work a try, or invent your own paper art craft.
Marble:
Learn one of the many ways to marble paper.
Stamp:
Press natural objects into paint or ink to use as stamps.
Transform:
Transform an everyday scene into an extraordinary one.
Layers:
Use translucent/transparent materials to create some layered art.
Weave:
Learn to weave or knot a rug.
Idea:
Start an idea book, where you keep track of all the creative ideas you have, things that inspire them, and plans to make them.
Vision map:
Start a vision board or mind map, or both.
Calendar:
Create a calendar by selecting images that interest you. Print their date squares on the back, then turn them over at the end of the year and make a piece of wall art out of them.
Time capsule:
Create a time capsule sculpture using objects that represent you current.
Cultural exchange:
Explore stories, yarns, tall tales, different traditions, languages, customs, local history, from a different country or culture.
Dictionary:
Create a dictionary of words that have significance to you and define them with your own stories, drawings, images, and more.
Podcast:
Listen to a new podcast or TED talk each day/week. I'm so very guilty of forgetting these things exist, and yet tHere's such a richness of them. Great fodder for conversation, writing, a media "book" club, other projects, or just for you.
Earworms:
Keep track of your earworms and make a playlist to share.
Off:
Unplug for the day.
