This is a selection of things to do with random groups of words. Choose a random group of words to work with, a specific set of words that impacts you, have others choose them, or have a word randomiser/LLM/chatbot choose some for you. Do what thou wilt, and have fun!

Acrostic

Select one, or more, of the words and create (a series of) acrostic poetry.

Altered States

Pick a word or three and change their appearance. Turn the letters into animals, plants, or a cityscape of buildings and towers.

Anagrams

Create anagrams of the words on your list.

Analysis

Choose words from your list that would not normally be applied to a personality or psychological trait, and use the words in a short piece as if they were about an individual's personality or psyche.

Art Project

Create a collage, painting, or word cloud incorporating elements or representations of these words, or the words themselves.

Bookmark

Cut sturdy pieces of paper or cardstock to size, and use script and other creative techniques, even digital ones, to add those words - singly or in multiples - to the papers to create bookmarks with.

Challenge

Create a project idea or challenge of your own that you can share with others that works from a list of random words.

Conceptual Diagram

Create a diagram connecting these words in an abstract or conceptual way, exploring relationships between the words to form a unique structure.

Cooking Inspiration

Choose a subset of the words and use them as ingredients for a recipe. The recipe could be a literal dish or a more abstract artistic creation inspired by the flavours and concepts represented by the words.

Crossword

Turn some of the words into a crossword or other word puzzle.

Design

Use the words as prompts to design something innovative.

Digital Art Animation

Create a short digital art animation where each word is visually represented and animated in a unique way.

Echo Chamber

Write a short story or script where each character only uses a subset of the given words. The story could explore the limitations or insights that arise from such restricted language.

Faux-ku

Create a syllabic form of your own, and create poems using the words in your collection

Found Poetry

Create a found poetry piece by arranging the words in a grid or on a page, allowing the lines and shapes of the words to create visual patterns and images.

Gameplay

Write some of the words down on slips of paper then invent a way to gamify selecting from those words to create poetry with.

Gamification

Come up with a method of choosing from the list and use those words to create a poem.

Image it

Pick one or more (or all) of the words and find physical objects that represent them, directly or indirectly or abstractly. Photograph the item(s) from different angles and distances.

Limerick

Write limericks for each of the words on your list.

Linguistic Puzzle

Design a puzzle that challenges people to put the words together in a specific order or to form new words based on the existing ones.

Magnetic

Print some of the words out onto magnetic sheets or papers, and use them as magnetic poetry fridge magnets.

Metaphorical Mosaics

Create mosaics using images or objects that represent the hidden meanings or metaphors associated with the words on your list.

Method of Loci (or memory palace)

Create a memory palace for each of your words, choosing and associating each with a specific location or visual cue that will aid you in recalling that word.

Middle Way

Align some of the words so that they're listed one under the other in a list to make a poem with their middle letters aligned to create another word with the aligned letters.

Musical Composition

Create a musical composition using these words as the basis for the melody, rhythm, or lyrics. Each word could represent a note, chord, or thematic element within the composition.

Paired Up

Pair two of the words together and pretend it's a new product. What is it? What does it do?

Picture This

Choose some of the words and use them as photograph prompts.

Play

Develop a word-based game or puzzle using these words.

Playlist

Create a playlist of songs that all mention one of your words in the title, or use your whole word list as inspiration for a list. Share it, or them.

Refractions

Create a piece that uses your words in a completely different fashion than they're normally used in English.

Rep

Collect images, colours, textures, etc. that represent, relate to, or remind you of each word and compile them into scrapbooks, collage, or come up with a project of your own for the output.

Scripted

Use the words to practice calligraphy or hand-lettering.

Short Story

Write a short story that incorporates as many of the words on your list as possible.

Soundscape Collage

Create a collage that incorporates sound recordings or images that represent the different sounds associated with the words on your list.

Synes-seemia

If you had to assign a colour, taste, scent, or sound to these words, what would they be? Use them as prompts for something creative.

Theater of the Mind

Write a short radio play or audio story that incorporates the words. Use descriptive language and sound effects to create a vivid mental image for the audience.

Time Capsule Compilation

Compile these words along with personal messages, images, or items representing a time period and store them for future generations to discover.

Typewriter Art

Write each word on a separate piece of paper, then arrange them in a collage or design on a piece of paper. Use a typewriter or a stylus to add texture and emphasis to the words.

Urban Exploration

Pretend the words are place names and write about the hidden gems or interesting stories associated with those places.

Vocabulary

For each of the words you're using, and without looking it up in a dictionary, give a definition for the word. Define what you think the word means, then use it in a sentence. Afterwards, look the words up and compare your definition with the dictionary definition.

Wordle Art

Inspired by the popular word game Wordle, create a digital art piece using the given words as the basis for the color palette or pattern. Each word could represent a different colour or pattern.

Writing Prompt

Use your words as prompts to write a short piece - either a story, poem, or other. Incorporate as many words as you can into the single piece.

Word Association

Choose one word from the list, and try to associate each word with the previous one until you've linked them all together.

Zinery

Use one word, or many, as the inspiration for a self-created zine.
