Mosaic:

Use small tiles or broken ceramic pieces to create a mosaic. These can be framed or placed into a shadow box.

Tape:

Use washi tape to create designs or patterns on a plain wall, or on a canvas or piece of masonite or cardboard.

Fabric:

Use lace doilies or other fabric pieces, and frame them.

String:

Use some weaving and knotting techniques, like macrame, to create handmade pieces.

Wall art memory quilt:

Put together a wall art memory quilt using fabric scraps, photos, and other personal items. Make one as a gift for a loved one.

Story quilt:

Get together with a group and create a story quilt together, where each person creates their own square.

Quilt squares:

Create a simple quilt square each day for a set period of time, and piece them together as a quilt (or wall art) at the end.

Old is new:

Make some wall art or hanging sculpture with old jewellery and other ephemera.

Paper:

Design some quilting squares, even if you never make them, or the quilt, or make them on paper and frame it.

Letters:

Create a new hand-lettering style and use it to make a piece of wall art of your favourite quotation or lyric.

Scraps:

Turn old fabric scraps into stuffed animals, pillows, or patchwork quilts. If you can't, put the scraps into frames to make some wall art, or to use as backgrounds for framed photographs.

Faves:

Turn your favourite quotations, sayings, or lyrics into a word cloud to glue into your journal or turn into a piece of wall art.
