02 - Go on a virtual road trip via mapcrunch.com, randomstreetview.com, driveandlisten.herokuapp.com, or drivenlisten.com. 03 - Choose something at random from ted.com to watch. 04 - How would you illustrate the concept of time? 05 - Put together an outfit inspired by a painting or photograph you like. 06 - Combine book pages with other materials like paint, ink, fabric, or found objects. 07 - Listen to a new style of music. 08 - Perform an act of kindness. 09 - Find and explore the oldest building in your town or city. 10 - Try a volunteer activity you've never tried before. 11 - Create your own trail mix. Find a trail to enjoy it on. 12 - Go to a book or poetry reading. 13 - Write a letter to someone - even if you never send it. 14 - Play a one-person board game. They do exist. 15 - Go to a craft workshop and craft! 16 - Learn to say “hello” and “thank you” in a new language. 17 - Create a story around a random found object, like tickets, receipts, a rusted key, or notes. 18 - Choose a random word from a dictionary and use it as the inspiration for something. 19 - Create a drawing using only lines. 20 - Visit a local museum or art gallery. 21 - Make a list of grassroots ways to do an end run around capitalism. 22 - Go on a historical walking tour. 23 - Using a map, let the place names guide your story or poem. 24 - Create something that provokes thought rather than tells a story. 25 - Spend the day doing a hobby you enjoy. 26 - Watch a documentary. 27 - Create a playlist where the titles of the songs tell a story. 28 - Sign up for something at the local library. 29 - Listen to a different music genre every day, or week, or whatever. 30 - Go to a workshop to learn something new. |
